Chocolate Banana Bread Recipe HOMEMADE!

So, I like baking...and I dislike throwing things out. So, I make soup from leftovers and those over-ripened bananas were tugging at me this morning to save them from the trash heap! So thanks to my Allrecipes.com app, I have made a lovely loaf of goodness!

I altered the recipe so this is MY version:

Chocolate Banana Bread
(makes 1 loaf)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Grease and flour loaf pan or use PAM Baking Spray

In large mixing bowl add:
1 1/2 c flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 Tbsp cocoa
1/2 c white sugar
1/2 c brown sugar

In separate mixing bowl add:
2-3 ripened bananas (mashed with fork)
2 eggs (beaten)
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 c sour cream
1 stick butter (melted)

Add moist ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix well
Batter will be kind of lumpy.
Add 1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Pour batter into prepared pan and back 1 hour.
let cool.

Fruit Infused - Natural Flavored Water

Make your own flavored water without using powders or other over-the-counter items. I filter my tap water thru a Brita filter, then using a glass or plastic container and a wooden spoon, mix in fruits and veggies that you like.
I used cucumber and lemons in one. I used lime, lemon and blueberries in one. And in another pitcher I used oranges, lemons and blueberries. Use whatever you have that you like!
Let it sit overnight in the fridge and enjoy! You can look up online to see different combos of veggies that help with different things, like weight loss, etc.

Projects that'll keep you hangin'!

So, this is my most recent passion. Hanging anything and everything on my walls that I love.
I've been looking at Pinterest a LOT lately and noticed how several people have been hanging
an entire wall with eclectic art. I have fallen in love with this idea. So, I thought---hey, I have
walls!! I need to get busy framin' and hangin'. So that's what I've been doing.

I'll show you have I've done and explain as I go :)

These are vintage Halloween photos. I saved them from Pinterest and printed the ones I
liked best to frame a collection!

This is our initial V along with a couple of interesting pieces of art.

This collection is my 'darker' pieces. Voodoo dolls, Day of the Dead skull and a couple of witchy art pieces. My 'Lizzie Borden' plaque and lastly a couple of framed photos of "posed" deceased children.

This is my wall of fun, whimsical, bright, cheery colors! The large piece is a handpainted piece I found at a thrift store. The flower vase my mom gave me. She found it at a yard sale. The two bird pieces are from Pier 1. And my special find, from a local thrift shop, is an embroidered work, dated and signed......I LOVE it!

Lastly, this is my basement den. I've began framing old magazines and other fun 'sayings'.. this wall is in-the-works :)

How-To Homemade Salt Dough Clay Recipe!

 This is an easy way to make dough for your crafts or for kids to play with.
In a large mixing bowl add:
1 cup of FLOUR
1/2 cup of SALT
mix dry ingredients, then slowly add 1/2  cup warm WATER
(see pix below)
Use a wooden spoon and mix together until you form a dough ball.
You can now roll and share your dough as desired. If you'd like, you can use
cookie cutters. Gently lay your finished items on a cookie sheet. You can line
the sheet with parchment paper, but it's not necessary.
Oven dry about 3 hours on low heat.
I've also read that some people use their microwave to dry dough. I haven't used this
method, but microwave for 3 minutes. If dough is still wet, microwave another 20 seconds
until dry. Let cool and you're ready to paint!
